As part of 'Nite in Ole Pawhuska' Street Dance and community art, we will be having several children's and community art activities. One of my favorites is sidewalk art. Tallgrass Gallery and School will provide the chalk for kids to draw, color and create on the sidewalks of historic downtown Pawhuska. Other planned activities are a color balloon dart throw and a 'paint a bison' community art project. There will be artists and fine craftsmen on hand demonstrating their work and plenty of space for children to have a great time!
It's important that we expose children to art and art experiences. Giving them the opportunity to create in a friendly and social setting. Children who use art to express themselves, also do better at academics.
The community art projects aren't just for kids! We want adults to join in the fun and experience art on a personal level as a group. When completed and sealed, the two community paintings will be delivered to the highest bidder from the silent auction.
Come join us in this celebration of art, Pawhuska and community. What a great way to finish up your fun after the renown Indian Taco Championship. Come join us in the REAL gateway to the west.
